Using Shylock To Adsense Old Posts

I’m going to keep this post short and sweet. When I bought this blog it was making 1,150 per month. However, I do strongly question that it was making that much because I have a hard time believing stumbleupon traffic was converting at that high of an rate. The second possibility is people don’t trust or follow me so there is no reason they would buy from me. However, I feel the only thing that I can nail down as a fact, is the fact that the people who read this blog are bloggers themselves and buy product through their own affiliate link and not mine.

Last month this blog made $71 dollars in affiliate sales from people who signed up and read the ebook. This month my affiliate sales are $22 from one sale (this number is through the 20th) What this is telling me I need to try a different monetization method for this blog. Not just to get it back up to the original 1,150 but simply add additional income to my day to day life.

So I started doing research and I came upon the Shylock Adsense Plugin. This plugin allows you to control when the adsense comes up on your posts. For example, I have it set for 20 days after I put the post up. What this allows is for my readers to read the post without the adsense and after 20 days the adsense comes up to allow me to make some money off of the people that find my article through the search engines.

So far the results have been minimal. I started doing this sometime in Sept and made $8.85 for the month. So far this month I have made $8.

So as you can see it is not a lot of money, however it is real and I will spend it. So go ahead and put it onto your blog and collect some money that you are currently leaving on the table.

So this has proven to be an interesting month. I’ve been enjoying florida and haven’t had a lot of time to work on my sites. I started a restuarant job the 17th and have been clocking 60 hours a week there. The money is great, this past week I made 1,241 and the week before that 1,137. So its all good down here is florida. One more week and I’ll be able to pay for my kiteboarding lessons and a couple of kites. After that I’ll be pouring money into content sites I can find on sitepoint and try to increase my network.

This month I really want to focus on long tail anchored links. Weather right or wrong I’ve been working my keyword authority for my main keywords across all my sites. This month I’m going to look at my long tail rankings and try to build links into my deep pages that are bringing in good traffic with decent paying keywords.

Going Through Your Old Links And Changing The Anchor Text

I was over on Grizzly’s blog about how to make money online and he wrote a post about the issue of weather or not you can make money with social traffic. Later he goes on to give examples that if you are currently running a blog and hustling for social traffic, a few changes you can make to your blog to help get more organic search traffic.

Alright, now you’re back with me. Grizzly stopped by and recommended to me to change my page title. It used to say Bryan Clark - Onemansgoal. Now it says Make Money | Make Money Online | How To Make Money | How To Make Money Online

We don’t want to make it hard for Google to figure out what are site is about. Going back deep into Grizzly’s archives I found an article that talked more about on-page optimization. After the first recommendation of changing the title tag the next thing recommendation was to change the h1, h2 etc tags. Now, this step is easy if you have the All In One Seo Pack on your computer. If not go download it and change your header tags. Now the next step has me confused, but luckily I know a guy who can do it for me. The next thing mentioned was the Alt Img Tag. This tag is your header graphic. In my case it is the picture of the little green guys on the top of the page. Now I’m going to have my dude resave this image to the computer as makemoney.img or gif whatever it is, I don’t know. What this will do is effectively give me one extra chance to tell Google what my site is about.

Now the other piece of advice offered in the article was to go through your current list of links and ask your friends (the people that have linked to you in the past) to change the anchor text of the links. Now I’m doing this with a piece of software called SEO Elite This software allows me to analyze my back links. SEO Elite shows me as having 359 Back links to my sites. Yahoo has me at way more but for the purpose of this illustration we will use that.

Lately I’ve been out and about trying to build up links to this site. These wasted links are things I have simply overlooked.

Now my goal is to send of e-mails to all these people that linked to me in the past and see if they would simply go back into their site and change the anchor text of their links.

The only thing that concerns me is Google Bombing. If I send all of these people e-mails today and the all change the links and suddenly I have 70 make money related links coming into my site. Grizz, is this a cause for concern????

Does Anyone Bookmarking Demon There Incoming Links

Just a quick little post. I keep bookmarking demon running all day. I try and do 3-6 runs a day and I’m almost done with all my niche sites and all the pages on this blog. Now I don’t want to go overboard with bookmarking demon so I try to run the page once and then I’ll come back in a few months. This got me thinking how I can continue to use this tool to benefit me without google getting upset with too many social links.

My great idea. Go though and find every incoming links from other sites to my own and include them in my bookmarking run to increase their page rank and authority and letting that flow into my site.

Now I do realize I would be helping my competition, but shit they linked to me. It would just be good Karma to send them some links.

Question About Varying Anchor Text

As I mentioned in my traffic and income report the main keywords I’m targeting are:

Make Money
Make Money Online
Make Money On Line
How To Make Money
How To Make Money Online
Money Online

In addition to these keywords I have 80 long tail keywords I targeting as well. Anyone who has checked on the make money long tail will know that the long tail contains 146 keywords, however some of them are typos (however, some typos get a lot of traffic) or they are keywords that aren’t going to click my ads or sign up for my ebook. So, 86 keywords it is.

My current keyword strategy is to get 5 links each for the above keywords to onemansgoal.com

Once I have achieved that I want to gain 5 anchored links to each one of my keyword dense articles that I have written.

Now my question will “make money” links to onemansgoal.com help http://onemansgoal.com/441/easy-ways-for-kids-to-make-money/ rank better for “kids make money”

Second question is will the links for “kids make money” to http://onemansgoal.com/441/easy-ways-for-kids-to-make-money/ help onemansgoal.com rank better for “make money”

I’m assuming the answer to both questions is yes. If this is the case I’m excited about my new strategy. Continue to build the links to the big time keywords I want to eventually rank well for while starting to dominate the lowest of the low long tail keywords and getting more traffic, adsense clicks and ebook signups while at the same time helping my main keywords.

All Moved In Just Waiting To Hook Up Internet Tommorow

Whats up everyone, finally all moved into my new house here in Florida. I’ve been having a hard time getting the internet set up becaused we moved into a community that has a excusive contract to provide cable and internet to the community. So far they suck.

Tommorow we should have everythings set up.

I’m not going to bore you with the details of the move but its done and I have had a couple of great beach days for far.
