My Finances (Or Lack There Of)
By Bryan Clark on Jun 30, 2007 in Uncategorized
To start off with I just wanted to throw out a quick thank you to James for the help that he has offered. James offered to help me set up the web page once I can get a domain. He also was kind enough to post about me on his blog, check it out HERE. Through all of his contributions, James has earned a spot in the “Supporters” section. Thanks again James.
So just to let you all see that I am serious about this, I am posting a screen shot of my bank account balances. The top one is savings, the bottom is checking. I’ll post these often so that you can all see what changes (if any) occur to my bank account from this project.
These aren’t altered in any way. Talk about starting from nothing. Hopefully a year from now we can all look back on this as the starting point of a great story. My goal is to plot out a roadmap to success for the rest of you (if it isn’t a complete failure).
As I stated in the first post, I am not looking to get rich. I am looking to make a sustainable income from home that I can build on over time.
Please comment often. I am counting on readers for tips and ideas to make this story a success.
I’d really like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support. We’ve been live for 2 days and have increased to 93 unique visitors yesterday (9 the day before). Keep it coming, this blog is about all of us. If I can do it, a roadmap will be created for the rest of you. If you have it to spare, donate a few bucks so that we may take this blog to it’s own domain. All support is appreciated and it will earn you a spot in the “Supporters” section.

While the goal of self employment is online, don’t be W2 averse. This is where some people go wrong. I know there are some out there that tell you take a risk and risks are necessary. But understand that they don’t have to be foolish. Take a W2 as a goal to help you get there.
My most successful internet venture which ended up netting me six figures a year for a bit and only took 2 to 4 hours of work per day took me 2 years in the building (with a regular W2 to get there).
Some will make it faster if you get the right idea at the right time and with the right revenue model, but most get there by chunking away at it a little at a time.
