Help A Friend In Need!

I received an email from Jason over at ERevenueSelect.Com asking for some help with a problem he’s having. I’m more than happy to help Jason, and I’d be more than happy to help any of you with your problems too. All it takes is an email (about me section).

Jason was recently hit pretty hard by the IRS. I feel for the guy because he runs a few outstanding websites and he is about to lose them. He has 15 sites in all and it would be a shame for all of the hard work it took creating, promoting, and writing in them to be a waste.

You can have anything in the world you want if you’ll just help enough other people get what they want. -Zig Ziglar-

I’m asking you for help. Not for me, but for Jason. He’s not asking for a handout either. He’s willing to do work for your site (writing, installing plugins, themes), I’m pretty sure if you flew him out to wherever you lived he’d watch your kids for the evening! He needs help, and it’s all about good karma. If you were in the same situation, wouldn’t you want someone to help you? I know I would. He’s only got until August 3rd, so donate or sign up for hosting today!

-How Can I Help?-

–You could go sign up for hosting at Site Ground Blog Hosting. With one referral Jason would be allow to keep all of his blogs online for another 3 months. All you have to do is sign up through the link I’ve provided. It’s an affiliate link that I stole from his page to make sure that HE is the one that gets the benefits.

–You could donate to the “Save Jason” fund. I’ve setup a paypal button at the bottom of my page. All proceeds will go directly to Jason and his cause. I Will Not Profit From This At All! I just want to help him out. Even if you can only donate a dollar… every little bit helps!

Good luck buddy. Hope we can save your websites.

if hosting is what he needs help with I could offer him a good package really cheap! If he slaps an ad on his sites for me. ;)

What did he do wrong to be audited by the IRS?

Why didn’t he put enough aside to cover his potential tax bill? I have investments that I don’t have to pay tax on until the end of the tax year. I keep the money I need for the tax bill until it is due AND earn interest on it in the meantime.

    Silly…

So Bryan, my advice to you is don’t plow all of your profits from this website back into it, keep some aside to cover expenses like Tax.

And claim anything you can like paid advertising, hosting, promotions etc.

I may be willing to help, but I would want more information on what happened, how bleak is the situation (would a small amount of help really make a difference), what is his plan to get out and what is he doing to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

More information and details would be good, on why exactly the IRS is after Jason, before i plunk down a few bucks to help. What happened?

If I could, I would help Jason out. But my site is new and my earnings are just starting so I don’t have money on my PayPal account yet.

    Bryan:

    I am with Missy.

To me, it sounds too similar to other “bagging for money” type of blogs.

I am more than happy to help a fishman instead of feed the fishman fish. I truly wondering why he is audited by IRS? In my experience, IRS won’t go after someone unless they made obvious mistake.

More information will be nice. And where are those 15 sites?

  9. By Jason on Jul 30, 2007 | Reply

Thanks Bryan for writing this post pal!

I know… You’re all probably thinking, “a guy with 15 sites is about to lose them, how sad… not.”

What happened was this. I moved out of state in May–from Georgia to South Carolina.

I thought I had gotten everything squared off, but it turned out I was getting letters from the IRS at my old Georgia home. Now it looks like tax fraud.

I’ve had to send all my profits from my websites and all income from my day job to the IRS.

Thank you Mahdi for the PayPal funds!

Mmm… What can I say to this… Maybe ask before assuming anything. Not everyone besides you is retarded. People are smart.

I feel like a loser asking anyone for anything. Anyone who knows me would know that.

This all happened so sudden. I’m not begging anyone for anything.

I’m just saying, if you need blog hosting, please buy it through my referral link so I don’t lose 15 sites/domains I’ve been working hard on for a long time. SiteGround is also the best blog hosting there is, because it’s affordable, has the best support, free WordPress installation, free themes, and it’s $5.95 per month.

I’m sure you can relate. To me my websites are like my children.

Thanks to all of you who are concerned about your fellow net entrepreneur.

Bryan, I appreciate the hell out of you.

By the way, here are a couple of my “in-need pages” at here and here, and here is my about page.

    I mean here

  12. By Mosley on Jul 30, 2007 | Reply

Could you give us a list of your 15 sites?

  13. By Jason on Jul 30, 2007 | Reply

I’m sorry, 14 at SiteGround… Not sure Bryan would appreciate all the links, so I put them in plain text.

Most of these were sites purchased in 2005 and 2006, but became parked domains. Some of them are just waiting to be used.

If I don’t like one of my sites after a while, I replace the hosting with a new URL and see how it does. All the active sites are actually new domains with addons renewed in 2006.

    Active:

    erevenueselect.com (podcast)
hotdiets.net (weight loss community not yet off the ground)
writingcommunity.net (writing community not yet off the ground)

    Forwarded to eRev:

payperclickinternetadvertising.net (got some recognition even at ProBlogger, but I decided to discontinue it because of the long URL).
goldenprose.net (bought it in 2006 so no one would try to copycat my GoldenProse.com
stressalive.com (I created this blog for a friend of mine, but he quit on it, so I forwarded it to eRev)
collegelifemoney.com (Was supposed to be an AdSense Sharing Blogging Community like WriteNiche, but College students are crazy and they could have gotten my AdSense account cancelled. Heh…)

    Inactive/Parked:

buyaguitaronline.com (used to be a guitar catablog. shouldn’t have parked this one and deleted the site. was making me money and had potential but I got burnt out on writing about guitars)
nablogwrimo.com (Will one day be like NaNoWriMo for bloggers)
dudebuzz.com (Used to be a sports blog)
    ebuythis.com (Stupid buy)
    onblogging.info (Stupid buy)
writeniche.net (Will eventually forward to my site WriteNiche)
    bigtimecreditcards.com (Stupid buy)

Here’s my last comment everyone. If you need hosting for a blog or community, please buy it through my referral link. SiteGround is awesome.

    For your help…

Secondly, I would be willing to set up a WordPress-based blog with a theme and needed plug-ins, or a Drupal-based community with a theme and needed modules (plug-ins) like my AdSense sharing community WriteNiche where I make around $100 per month off AdSense revenue alone.

Contact me at admin [[at]] goldenprose.net if interested before the 3rd.

    Thanks,

    Jason Parker

I am amazed how quickly you’ve generated so much traffic. I have a fitness site and genuinely want to help folks learn about fitness and nutrition. Unfortunately its not much fun if nobody visits. Any advice? http://www.workoutreview.blogspot.com

Yikes, sorry to hear Jason. I got whacked, too, last year when I didn’t know my boss was going to slam me with a 1099. I’ll keep you in mind if I need your services. (That kind of sounds dirty :x )

Well done on the arrogant reply. You COULD have said why you got audited instead of proving how many chromosomes you have with that kind of reply.

However to be audited by your countries tax service implies that you have done something wrong, and then to be putting your hand out for donations sickens me.

But by all means go and set the record straight. I’m listening, regardless of your snide remarks.

    Angel-

Thanks for the kind words. Please do keep me in mind if you need any help. And it may actually come to the other type of service by the end of this week. Kidding!

    I apologize Bryan. Won’t happen again. =)

I haven’t talked trash this bad since AOL chatrooms back in the day. Haha.

  22. By Bryan on Jul 31, 2007 | Reply

No worries! I have a certain someone I’d like to thrash in public for stealing some ideas I’ve had and profiting from them. I won’t mention names. I just keep reminding myself that I do not want to stoop to that level.

  23. By Jason on Jul 31, 2007 | Reply

Bryan, I used to not stoop, but now I challenge hehe…

I know exactly what site you’re talking about. I almost dropped an unfriendly comment about it on his blog, but it would have just been deleted before posted.

Dang, ironic that the end of the post says ‘Save Jason,’ then under that there’s a ad for The Bourne Ultimatum, lol

Good luck Jason, we’ll be praying for you.
