Is Leaving The Featured Article Up Useful To Me?

So I say Vic over at bloggerunleashed leaving up his make money online post on the front page. So I, trusting the big boys have left my how to make money online post up on my front page.

However, I only have the title and some of the content showing. Do you think this is helping me? Does anyone no if this is useful?

Side note, its kinda funny I get this randoms made at me about and an they contact me with comments like. “is part of your make money online strategy to not post in a month and a half”

They need to take just a little more time and scroll down abit. But in all reality my rankings are going up and if leaving that post up helps any at all, its worth it to me.

    Hi Marc,

I have only visited a few times since the changeover, but to be honest I don’t like the portal style front page, its hard to see which is the latest post in my opinion.

The featured post is good because it would show new visitors what you’re known for :)

You should have insisted on the full post to appear. Anyway it makes good reading.

I think it is a good idea in principle, but why would you copy Vic’s anchortext “Make Money online”?

That is a nearly impossible phrase to rank for, Vic isn’t even on page one.

You should try to rank for a longer tail set of keywords.

It all depends on the concept of the post, some times the “pros” put up linkbait ads, or affiliate marketing promos, those I’m not a big fan of, but when a post is relative to new readers, I can understand leaving it up until you write a new one similar.

Providing your site with the article has been crawled by Google and it’s a got a cache of it, you should be fine, submit it other directories, that way your site will be credited with the original article not any of the article directories.

I find my site ranks better (seo) when I write only 2-3 posts a month. Keep it fresh, but not daily fresh, at least that’s what works for me.
