Easy Ways For Kids To Make Money

The title of this post is a little deceiving because making money isn’t easy. It is time consuming and for the most part boring. Because of the reasons just mentioned, it is important to work smart not hard.

I started mowing lawns, raking leaves and shoveling snow as my first business ventures. Sadly, I quickly moved into taking a job at the local golf shop. One of the other kids in my neighbor did the same thing, mowing, raking and shoveling. The difference is that he stuck with his business and expanded it. By the time we were both seniors in high school he had three kids working for him. (I worked for him once and made $10/hour) He also had riding mowers and push mowers. He pulled $20,000 the summer before he went off to college and had is little brother run it for him while he was in college for a 50% cut. This means while he was off having fun at college he was making $10,000 yearly for doing nothing.

Like I mentioned above, I stopped working my own business in favor of taking a job. I did this because I decided to sacrifice long term income for money now. As you read above, this was a mistake. I would venture a guess that this is the way that most kids make money. Now, this is the normal route taken by many kids and is probable a necessary first step. But as I’m taking the time to write this article I’m trying to think of easy ways for kids to make money. I’ve concluded the one of the best ways for kids to make money is to start their own small business.

The reason I took the time to ramble about this little story was to show you that you can work for money or you can build a business to work for you. Now of course I’m biased but I think one of the best ways for kids to make money is to build content sites online. Content sites are good for numerous reasons. First, you won’t have to work out in the sun all day. Second, writing all of the articles will strengthen your writing skills and you’ll learn about things that you previously didn’t know. Third, you will be building assets that will be working for you while you are in school. Imagine making money while you’re wasting your time listening to your teacher talk.

Now I’m not saying that this is the only way, but simply one of the easy ways for kids to make money. Compare getting contracts, managing employees, buying mowers, getting gas to building your own websites, collecting adsense income monthly and when ready, selling your site within a day on sitepoint for 12-18 months adsense earnings.

Now you know the way kids make money

    Hi,

It’s very interesting to see that I started my site almost a year ago and am making a little more each month than the last.

It’s also interesting that I left my blog for about 2 months without any posts, since I wanted to take a “vacation” from it for a while and it still was raking in the moola!

    Thanks,
