The Events That Led To “The Plan”
By Bryan Clark on Jun 29, 2007 in Uncategorized
I was a bartender at my last job. I loved it. I was also extremely good at what I did. So good in fact, that I was featured in a local newspaper as one of the 12 best bartenders in the city.
I worked at a smaller place that had just opened in one of the eclectic St. Louis neighborhoods. The place was extremely slow, and almost never had any business for me. Needless to say, as a bartender, I didn’t make much. But, when it was busy, I absolutely loved being there.
Well, one day the owners pull me outside to tell me that they had been thinking about that raise I requested. The solution that they had agreed on was that I was wasting my time behind their bar. That I was far too good to be working for so little. So to do me a favor, they let me go. Nice of them to let me make that decision.
I have been unemployed ever since (a little over a month now).
These are the events that led to my proposed “plan”. With a little help from my readers (suggestions, encouragement, etc.) maybe it can be done. Maybe it can’t.
