@ Jimmy Joe: I think it’s more like understanding the climate he’s in. Understanding the marketplace is something that more bloggers need to learn a little bit about.
@ Marc: I think the only thing that makes me cringe is when you say things like:
“I don’t have to post everyday, because I’m going to do what I want…”
Obviously this is your blog and your business. Everything about this phenomenon that Bryan started is yours now. You as a grown, intelligent man, can decide how you’d like to utilize what you’ve got and all we can do is sit back and watch. It’s sort of fun actually.
I also want to stand up and applaud your solid defense of Bryan. FINALLY! Just as much as you need his help, he might need yours and you should keep that in mind when you come across the crap. It’s GOT to be quite tiresome defending yourself against the constant barrage of bullshit and having your backing is one way of having and un-refutable argument. Bryan’s a very funny, smart, well rounded guy, who DOES know his stuff. He’s got a great head on his shoulders and deserves better than a quick push of the ledge like so many ignorant people are ready to do. Good show! Brownie points for you.
Anyway, keep it up!

Ohhh my… I just saw the last one…
@ Hater: You’re a serious douche bag
Thanks for stopping in, you made my day. I now know that there are humans dumber than monkey shit still out there.

Marc:
I keep coming back not just because I am Bryan’s old blog friend, but also because I want to see you succeed.
However, I am a little disappointed by the way you manage your response to the visitors. There is always haters or lovers out there.
I think you need to focus on making your visitors your believer. Prove that you can be what you claim to be. Don’t spent too much time showing your face and fight back with those none-sense conversation.
Instead of complaining the big Internet Marketing environment and bitchy about what other people did, you can simply show us what you will do to make yourself differentiated from others.
A successful entrepreneur is the one work on their issues instead of complaining. Show me why you will succeed.
Thanks!

Thanks for the comments Marc, I’ll always be here to help… just keep giving me a ring! The haters will always be there, and the truth is, as you get more successful, it almost draws a line in the sand of who is for you, and who’s against you. You’re starting to see that here…
Just keep your head up, keep plugging away, and one day it’s just going to click for you. You’ll realize how easy this Make Money Online game really is.. it comes with knowledge, and confidence to implement what you read. I’ve never backed down from my original statement - “You’ll Do Fine… it just takes time”.
The intro almost made me spit out my soda. The sign was priceless.
And thanks to PB for the kudos!

Hey Marc, nice post. I think bashing people as a cop out way to get attention and it’s great to see you’re not thinking of going down that road. I like watching your videos and think you’ve got a good thing going with them. Glad to see your site back online, best of luck.
By Hater on Jun 11, 2008 | Reply
@ PB: A comment like that from a useless “Make Money Online” drone like yourself is a true compliment. Good to see Marc can fight his own battles.
@ Marc: Some suggestions: Buy a book on digital video and editing. Read it. Learn it. Consider aiming your web cam at yourself, not the ceiling.
Both onemanswaste.com and onemansbankruptcy.com are available. Do you have an affiliate link so I can register them?

Funny how the haters aren’t big enough to include a link to their site.
You’re doing a great job Marc so just keep at it and work at your own pace.

@ Marc: I suggest you take the douche bag’s advice. I think you should aim your camera in a toilet for your next video post. Maybe hater would feel more at home that way.
@ Emz: Agreed. I haven’t seen a spammer with big enough balls. A is a pansy will always be a pansy.

There will always be haters but you have a smile on your face and a game plan in your mind. way to go! Really good to see you backing Bryan too!!!!! Thanks for the mention too by the way.
@ PB - wow, you have a thing against haters?!?! Oh wait, that is totally deserved. Loving the comments today!!!!!

@Hater - Even though I don’t agree with your statement, I will reply that it is better to try to be a player and be played than to be a shameful, lonely, hater watching on the sideline. Every game needs cheerleaders.
@Mr. Biscuit - Sorry it makes you cringe but you got to think are you in charge of your blog or your readers. Take control see what happens
Standing up for Bryan isn’t evan an issue. I’ve always had his back, just felt like it need to be said again.
@Terrence - wait for the post it has nothing to do with complaining and everything to do with fakes within the circle.
Thanks for stopping by
@Bryan - my heads always up never down. It’s the people that hate with know website that make me laugh. If you can’t look me in the eye put your face down.
Thanks for commenting.
@Hater - I think I can hear your mom calling you up from the basement for dinner, you better go.
@EMZ - thanks I will keep up, but it will be at my own pace. I can’t sit inside all day, it is just not in my nature. I’m just trying to find a balance.
@Brandon - Drama is right. At first I wanted to take the high road but shit, this is kinda fun. Since I bought this blog it has gotten a little “Springer” around here. Drama sells. Anyone ever see the Jerry Spring with the Kung Fu Hillbilly?? My definate favorite.
@theaffilatepost - not problem thanks for the props.

Marc I think you are starting to figure it out. You sound like you are coming around a little bit. You are beginning to understand the difference between search engine traffic and stumble upon (fake traffic). Good to hear that you know who Griz is and that you are learning from Vic at BU.
It’s really tough to correctly monetize non search engine traffic isn’t it?
By the way, I have been a reader of Vic’s blog since about January. I am a loyal reader (or video watcher) not because of his rants and raves but for the knowledge. I think it’s a mistake to think of his ranting and raving as part of a “business model”.
Controversy does work though. The greatest example of all is probably Muhammed Ali –a master of self promotion based on controversy.
But to imply that the readers of BU are there just because of the controversial aspect of the blog is really misleading. It makes it sound like the Vic’s blog is all fluff when it’s the exact opposite. It’s full of truly valuable information.
May success be yours.
By Bryan Clark on Jun 12, 2008 | Reply
Stumble Upon is fake traffic? I suppose if you hit the front page of Digg, the 30,000 uniques they send you are fake too? You can monetize ANY traffic with the right monetization strategy. I don’t know why these blogs go around saying that social traffic is useless, yet I find them promoting themselves on social networks while nobody is looking. ALL traffic is valuable.
Vic is notorious for trash talking social traffic and calling it worthless or fake traffic, yet I see his ugly mug on StumbleUpon using 3-4 different names. Here is one of them - http://neosys.stumbleupon.com/ - and if StumbleUpon traffic is so useless, tell me why the two sites towards the bottom of that page are him stumbling bloggerunleashed.com and bloggingzoom.com - two sites that he owns.
Could it be that Vic says one thing and does another? Never! This guy is as fake as they come, when you get a little more experience in the MMO niche, you’ll come to realize that.
By Mary on Jun 12, 2008 | Reply
yea, you can monetize any traffic. Bryan sit still and try to understand this. Targeted traffic converts way better than friggen stumble traffic (generic or general traffic). This is basic. Traffic with a need converts. Stumblers are looking to stumble and read. They are all bloggers. They convert horribly because they have the same ads on their blogs.
The reason you push that fake traffic is because you don’t know how to get real traffic. Organic traffic. That’s it. It’s easier to say, “Ah, screw Google. I get my traffic from Stumble and Digg –and you can buy this $47 ebook that will teach YOU how to make THOUSANDS of dollars with STUMBLE traffic”
Your whole method is born out of ignorance. You can’t get organic traffic so you push stumble (worthless traffic as far as money goes). Because you are clueless to real seo, you need to push those loser blogs on to newbies because you just don’t know how to drive real traffic.
Vic says he loves stumble and digg…it’s just that they are poorly converting traffic.
Fake it till you make it Bryan. Where do you rank for “make money online” ?…that’s what I thought…
By Marc on Jun 12, 2008 | Reply
@Mary - I wouldn’t say it’s fake traffic. All traffic serves a point stumble upon will help you with Rss subscribers as well as boost alexa rankings with will help you with “social proof” to get people to follow you.
I would like to clear up what I said about Vic. I think he uses controvery and great content. Like I said, I visit his blog and pull great nuggets of infomation. I’m just saying he uses it as a one-two punch. Say some crazy shit, have people come to blog, read great content and stay.
To that note, how did you find him and his blog????
By Mary on Jun 12, 2008 | Reply
I found Vic’s site one day when I was searching out some seo technique or something. I thought he was much younger because of all the foul language and I wasn’t ready to take him seriously. Then I came across his blog again and started to really read it. I noticed he was saying things that contradicted the prevailing conventional wisdom, yet I agreed with him because my own experience had already confirmed many of the things he was saying. And most of the so called experts in the niche were preaching to me ” a false gospel” if you willl. Then I realize that Vic was, in my opinion, one of the few blogges who actually knew more than me about seo and techniques…subtleties.
I don’t get into the whole “lets save the world from the spammers” thing. I couldn’t care less. I’m just interested in the straight up talk and great info.
I used to have a list of MMO blogs saved in my favorites that was a mile long. I dumped them all when I figured out how to make money blogging a few years ago. Now, I have Vic, Griz and Court and Bluehat Seo and that’s it. Nothing else.
I know a scammer now when I see one. They can’t get organic traffic and never teach the finer points like, how to drive targeted organic traffic. How to increase your ctr, and how to avoid getting priced. Also, how to trigger the highest paying and best converting adsense ads.
I checked out Bryans site last night and this guy is just beginning to get a clue about basic seo. It is so obvious yet he parades himself as some kind of expert. It bugs me a little bit. And all the newbies (like I used to be) don’t know better and it’s not their fault. I just hate phonies.
Marc, good luck with your blog. I hope you don’t waste your time learning the wrong stuff. Hopefully you will be wise enough to tell the difference between right and wrong. You have a terrific attitude and if you continue to seek the correct information you will no doubt be successful.
Just don’t waste your time learning how to puff up a fake blog and sell it to someone etc…learn sound marketing techniques and experiment with different promotional models and you will find your way if you stick with it.
Best to ya
By Bryan Clark on Jun 13, 2008 | Reply
Wow… I was being nice at first, but Mary, you’re pretty clueless. I never said Stumble traffic was higher converting than Organic, quite the contrary. I said that it CAN be monetized with the right strategy. It’s funny to hear someone try to explain that social traffic doesn’t convert well enough to be worth your time.. yet you and the other idiots that read Vic’s blog spend all your time creating BANS sites that net you $1 a day, if you’re lucky.
And let’s talk about SEO for a second. I’ve never claimed to be an expert on the subject. In fact, many times I’ve conceded that Vic probably knew more about SEO than me. However, I get 30% of my traffic at the new site from Google. And the “where are you ranked for make money online” comment was beyond stupid. If you look at my title tags, that’s not even a keyword that I’m targeting. It’s worthless. Why target a keyword with 40 million results that could mean anything from how to sell necklaces, to making money on ebay? That’s NOT targeted traffic for a blog that focuses on buying and selling websites.
And for someone that claims to know even a little about SEO, let’s take a gem of a quote off your Blogspot blog.
“After you post a number of times and build up your links, you will eventually get some page rank and you’ll rank better for your keywords”
Didn’t Vic teach you that PageRank has nothing to do with SEO? It doesn’t matter what your PageRank is when it comes to ranking for your keywords. The only reason the two are often thrown into the same sentence is because it takes links to rank for keywords, and the more links you have, USUALLY, the higher your PageRank.
Hey, I think Vic’s whistling… better go check out his blog, Mary. Wouldn’t want to miss a “can’t-miss” money making opportunity like how to set up BANS sites for .08 cent clicks!
By Bryan Clark on Jun 13, 2008 | Reply
Wait, one more gem from Mary’s blog.
“If your keywords are super targeted, longtail keywords, then you just need to work on getting your site to page one or two.”
I guess you didn’t know that statistically the drop off in traffic from spots 6-10 are around 30% of that from spots 1-5. It drops to nearly 10% on the second page. Keep making money you SEO expert you! Eventually you’ll make enough to get a real domain!
By Mary on Jun 13, 2008 | Reply
I really don’t care about your resentment toward vic. Really I don’t but it is obviously bothering you a whole lot.
Everyone needs to know that you sold Marc (It’s not your fault Marc –go make that money!!) a TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR BLOG that makes less than $6 a day!
And you knock those who build niche sites (for free at blogspot) and make a buck or three a day? No investmet. No TEN GRAND — Marc made $171 in may. That makes me sick. Wasn’t this blog supposed to be making like a thousand dollars a month? You scammed him and now you are embarrased and ashamed.
GO get some of you readers to come here and defend you.
Yeah, you like my piece of crap three day old blog huh? Bryan, I set up about 50 of these everyweek with crap content and all. It’s an affiliate product blog you dumbass. Not my gospel on seo blog!
You know Bryan not every blog is created with the intention of becoming a superstar in your own mind. It’s a friggen affiliate blog and I create one for EVERY new product that comes out on clickbank. Takes me an hour to put 5 posts up. I promote it once for about a week (along with about twenty or so other blogs) and that’s it. No fuss, no fooling around. No maintenance. I like it that way OK?
You’re a dumb ass. The top ranking site for MMO is a blogspot blog.
Yeah so my blog is effin lame…so what? All my blogs are and the make me a passive income with hardly any work. What a fool you are.
By the way, just to let you know, you ARE in the MMO niche.
About page rank my fake friend…I don’t care what Vic says or you say. I have learned almost everything I know from trial and error. One thing is for sure. When you get a high pr backlink featuring your keyword it helps you rank a whole lot for that keyword.
Next (I can’t believe I’m taking time out to explain this to yet another noob) Page rank IS a factor in how well you rank for your keywords. PR is one of the many factors that the algorithm takes into account when parsing the serps.
I do this for a living. I make tons of low maintenance niche sites and manage a few hundred of them. This is my bread and butter and you, the clueless one are going to argue with me?
I learned plenty before I found Vic’s site and I don’t need him to tell me about simple things like page rank.
Next free lesson for you fool: Owning a strong keyword like “make money online” will give you authority on other make money keywords that ARE more targeted. I’ve analyzed hundreds of sites, maybe even over a thousand of them. I think you should do the same.
There is nothing wrong with making a buck a day off of a hundred set and forget sites. Poor Marc here is making about 6 dollars a day from your $10,000 blog! It takes 5 weeks to set them all up and promote them. Then you make money. What’s the matter? Too simple for you to believe it’s true?
You want everybody to think that you have to do all this A-lister social BS and ass kissing in order to get invited into the Elite A-lister club.
Well screw you. I don’t want to sit at your friggen “lunch table” with all the “cool” people.
You know Bryan, there are thousands of people out there who make great money doing what I’m doing (and I guess what Vic does too since it’s similar). You might have these noobs fooled but there is definitely a large group of people who could spot your type a mile away.
Nice to see you “friend” Marc made a whopping $171 last month off of this TEN THOUSAND DOLLAR BLOG you sold him!
And your not a scammer…yeah, you better talk to marc 5 times a week cuz if you don’t he’ll blow the whistle on you and expose you. You took ten thousand dollars off of this guy!
Why don’t you help him make some serious money back if your such a nice honest guy.
By Mary on Jun 13, 2008 | Reply
Marc, you’re a sport for letting me argue with this scammer on your blog…
By the way Bryan let me show “In context” the excerpt from my lame crappy litte blog:
” (1)To generate quality traffic you need to spend lots of time getting links to your site. (2)After you post a number of times and build up your links, you will eventually get some page rank and you’ll rank better for your keywords. (3)If your keywords are super targeted, longtail keywords, then you just need to work on getting your site to page one or two. (4)If you keep building links you will achieve your goal. Then you will have some real traffic that actually converts.”
The readers here at One Mans Goal can see that I’ve number the four sentences that make up this little paragraph that you found to be stupid. Can anyone tell me if any of the points I made in this paragraph are not true?
All four of my points are inarguably true. Hopefully you will disagree so I can make a fool of you.
And I said “page one or two” because it’s when you reach page two that you start making money.

By Piss Biscuit on Jun 14, 2008 | Reply
@Mary: I think you would have been better leaving it alone… So the insult may have been distasteful… that would be the point of an insult. But what’s more distasteful, is your feeble attempt to look innocent by “manipulating” the comment to your benefit. Uh-hum… yeh, that sort of just lost you any leverage you thought you may have had.
As for the scammer comments you’ve made… I am not involved in the deal and neither were you. That said, I think it shows really poor taste for you to saunter on in here and stir shit up when none of it has anything to do with you. Not cool Mary, and if it was all to earn you a few more clicks to one of those numerous “blog” sites you’ve got… so be it… but you should at least have the courtesy to NOT do it HERE and sling mud when both the “buyer” and the “seller” are perfectly content with the deal.
By Mary on Jun 15, 2008 | Reply
Piss Biscuit -let me have my opinion OK? Do I have to ask you for permission to express myself? What do you mean when you say, “Saunter on in here” like it’s your living room. Does Marc only want people on his blog that are going to kiss Bryan Clarks ass? Sorry, it is not going to be me.
Piss Biscuit, you are another tool. You said, “Mary: I think you would have been better leaving it alone… So the insult may have been distasteful… that would be the point of an insult.
You fool, I’m not saying that he’s being distasteful toward me…but using the special olympics as a point to poke me with is distasteful toward handicap people. Did you drop out of school??
Hey Marc, this ranting bitch (yea that’s me) found a wonderful comment from the Adsense GURU Bryan Clark. On your post, “Creating An Adsense Account And Applying The New Code To Your New Theme he advised you,
“By Bryan Clark on May 23, 2008 | Reply
The worst part about being value priced by Adsense is that you can have one site that performs wonderfully using Adsense, and another one that does terribly… they’ll both get value priced. It rests on your overall CTR, so if your CTR is getting pretty low (less than 1-2%)… remove your Adsense code before it effects your other sites.”
I don’t know where the GURU read this one (probably some useless adsense ebook that some newbie managed to throw together) but getting value priced is NOT due to a low CTR!
See, I used to think that too but I’ve since learned otherwise. Your adsense (don’t worry Marc, this is sound advice) will get value priced if the people clicking the ads don’t convert well for the advertiser.
It works like this: if google sees that your site is not converting well then they wont let the highest paying advertisers advertise on your site. You’ll get the cheap ads instead. This can happen if the traffic that comes to your site is not targeted. See, this is why search traffic is best. You’ll know if you have been priced when ads that have been paying three bucks a click are suddenly paying ten cents.
Piss Biscuit –I suppose I should just let Bryan mislead this poor newbie right? I shouldn’t tell marc how adsense really works cuz then I’m just ’stirring shit up’…
Newbies like Bryan Clark (yea he is still a noob –but a successful bullshitter) are always giving advice like they are experts…fake it till you make it.
Marc, I don’t know everything (not even close) but if you ever want to get anywhere you’ve got to stop listening to the pretenders and shake ‘em off. They are going to fill you up with incorrect time wasting BS.

@ Mary:
1.) What I mean by “suanter in here” is that you’re like a peacock during mating season, walking around getting your dirty little self into stuff that isn’t you business. Is it really that hard to accept that Marc is HAPPY with the sale? I’m not sure why you’ve got such a hard on for stirring up shit, but it’s starting to look alot like envy and it’s really not a good color on you.
No matter how foul your mouth, or rude your comments, there is no excuse for you trying to tell Marc how he should or should not feel about the deal… grow up douche bag, he’s happy and that’s all that matters. It’s not you business to say otherwise. Get over yourself, no amount of name calling will make up for the fact that you’ve now made yourself look like “Gladys Cravitz” being all up in your neigbors business.
So, no, this is’t my living room, this is more like my “playroom”. I like to come here, watch Marc’s videos, read about his very “surfer dudeish” way of thinking. Then comes along “Mary”… you’re like the fat lady at the beach who plays crappy music, litters the place with chicken bones, and brings along your sisters 19 kids all dorning the in bread sign of love… the Kool-Aid mustcache…
Point is you’re turning something fun, into a real nightmare… don’t say you’re not either… I’m telling you that you are. Enough so, that I stepped in. You’re trying to cover your “meddling” as advice… sorry, I call bullshit.
I’m not even going to begin to go into your other numerous attacks, because it’s obvious that you’re simply pulling for straws here… so let me just call you out real quick…
I challenge you to make more money than I off of one website for one month. I’m not in the MMO niche so, this ought to give you the real upperhand right? Yeh! Drop the bullshit, accept my challenge and should you win, the world will know it.
I’m not really sure how to set one of these up, so anyone with any ideas should step up with some suggestions…. here it is Mary, your chance to show the world that you’re not “faking it till you make it”…
If you wnat to back down too… that’s okay… I’ll make sure that everyone knows you did… LOL! Enjoy Fathers say at the beach Mary, I look forward to being “whooped” up on by a seasoned pro.

Whoa, this is getting a bit out of hand. Mary, or is it Justin, John, Nicky, Zach, Chris, Megan or Bookmarking Demon Review? I can’t keep up with all of these names that you use that don’t even bother dropping a backlink. Whatever your name is, why don’t you focus on making money instead of sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong?
And you couldn’t be more wrong about the Adsense thing. I’ve got an email from Google if you’d like to read it. I emailed customer support asking why my Adsense clicks were paying me 10% or so of what they used to pay. This is the answer they gave (the one you quoted). If you want to read the email, use the contact form on my site and I’ll send you a copy. But I’m not sending it to you anonymously. You’ll have to share with everyone who you really are.

Did you hear what you said?
You WILL take building a real business seriously in the future, because you are only 25 years old?
Who said that you can’t build your real business at age of 25, while traveling around the world?
Who said that you can’t play hard and work hard the same time?
With few blinks, you will turn into 35, 45 and older. Trust me. If you are not serious now, you will never be serious.
You are giving yourself an excuse not to be success. If your mind is not ready, you will never be ready. You may not care to lose a reader, but you are not planning your life well.
When you are 35 or older, you turn around and realize that you are just another losers. Is that what you want to be, because you are just 25 years old?
Bryan Clark may be called spammer or whatever people think he is, but Bryan Clark did show the desire to succeed from day one of this blog. I don’t feel a thing from you! You look too much like a kid playing video game and don’t know your future.

Don’t get me wrong. Everything start small and slow. I sounds old like your Dan, but that’s what I have been through. I had tons of freedom and I had so much fun when I were 25 years old. I have done so many crazy thing that people wanted to do for so long. I have done all that.
Now I am working very hard and play very hard to enjoy my life while building my own business seriously. I spent 15 months traveling in the past 2 years. I can still working on my business. It’s slowly growing, but it’s steady.
My point is this. You can have freedom and anything you want, while seriously building your business. Don’t wait until you are older. It’s up to you how you want to plan your life. You can have BOTH!

Do your best, dont give up. You have allies here, amongst the bull shiters and negative people. Im rooting for you. I dont know you well, and you dont know me. But who cares? Just do your thing. No one hits a home run on the first at bat. Well some do, but who cares about that.
Focus on what you want first, then seek out the help of those can help, such as Bryan and the others here who have volunteered to help.
You have friends, which as a blogger, is a big big plus. Run with that. After awhile, i would just not let any negative commenters here on your blog. I can see how some come for the negativity, and traffic is traffic. But it will distract you.
So my best advice is to start to focus on what YOU want. Then use every resource at your disposal, including your blogger friends, and take it one day at a time.
It’s not easy, but you can do it.

I’ve got an email from Google if you’d like to read it. I emailed customer support asking why my Adsense clicks were paying me 10% or so of what they used to pay.I dont know you well, and you dont know me. But who cares? Just do your thing.

I don’t consider myself an adsense expert, but saying it depends heavily on CTR is wrong.

According to Google, who I consider to be more of an authority on the topic than both Bryan and Mary.
Advertiser ROI and conversions are a bigger factor than CTR. They’re more concerned about an advertiser getting their money’s worth, than just CTR. You can have a high volume, low CTR, site that converts well. If you only have 1% CTR, but 90% of those who clicked converted for the advertiser, I doubt you’d get priced.
I think low CTR tends to be a side effect of poorly targeted traffic. Poorly targeted traffic doesn’t convert well. So you get priced, and you assume it is only due to CTR.
I suggest checking out this post from Griz. He ranks well. Knows his shit. He’s a nice guy.
And he’s one of the few MMO bloggers who are successful monetizing with adsense.

I’d trust him more than all the other blogger rattling off their views on the topic. Griz actually uses adsense in a niche that is notoriously bad for adsense.
I’m not trying to debate with either Mary or Bryan, just thought I’d give some input.

Justins remarks were exactly what I was trying to express and I think if you read my comment again you will see that. It’s just that Justin said it much more articulately than I did. Nice explanation Justin.
