@Mark Venardi
I agree with Jill - many factors involved in domain/website valuation - A simple way of coming to a figure is to multiply the annual revenue by 8X or 10X as you would with any other business. Not always that accurate as the web shifts pretty quickly... this is how perez hilton's blog ended up with a value of $48Million...

Bryan Clark is NOT a scammer. What is wrong with you people? Can't stand someone making a buck on a sale?

Perhaps it's because people like you John have failed to make any money online? Sour grapes...

I just don't understand what all the fuss is about - wpdesigner.com has a similar alexa rank and had an asking price of $65,000 - it reportedly sold for approx half that, somewhere in the region of 30k.

Don't you people get it? Websites with rank and traffic make money. Therefore a website like this one is worth money - what's 10k anyway? A drop in the ocean.

Bryan could easily have put a higher price tag on this site.

The fact is that certain bloggers on other sites know they can get a lot of traffic by hyping up a story and that's exactly what has happened. Shame on the people who stirred up this non-event at the expense of someone else.

Bryan Clark is definitely a scammer. He sold a worthless blog to a noob for over ten thousand dollars. The only reason "he stands behind it" is because he knows that everybody else knows his dirty laundry.

The word is out man, I see Bryan clarks being called a scammer everywhere. On all these blogs and even in some articles I was browsing at some of the article directories.

Geez Bryan, this is going to negatively effect your credibility. Loser.

Mark, there cannot be one "across the board" valuation per link because some words and topics fetch far higher prices. There are a multitude of factors for determining the value of a domain. Some are: past use, incoming links, brandability, alexa ranking, type in traffic, etc.

The best advice I have is to study, on a weekly basis, the weekly domain sales reports at http://www.DNJournal.com

If you want to ask my opinion about a specific domain, feel free to email me.

@GoalGuru.com - Is there a general "rule of thumb" of value per link, or maybe per 1k visitors, when selling your domain? What statistics are most valuable when valuating a domain?

I'd be happy to hear anyone's opinion on this.

As a domain investor, I can tell you that a domain with as many incoming links as OMG has could have easily fetched over $ 10,000 at a domain auction.

I will follow to see what Marc does with it and support him in any way I can.
