Hi,

I have found that working with WP seems to be smooth, and has more features.

My problem was how to place Google AdSense Ads on WP.

My own experience has showed me that Google AdSense is easiest and quickest way to make money online.

Nothing can be done to help people, who are doing online business, better than improving the way they apply to maximize their Google AdSense revenue.

I think that any information regarding AdSense and WP will be of a good help for me and others.

Success,

Hi Bill,
Excellnt article.
I fully agree about the importance of having a visually pleasing blog. I like the idea of adding a photo to your blog-gives it a little more personality!
I agree...anything you can do to give a great first impression is so very important.

Thank you all for the comments.
Cindy - Your right, even with a great headline it is often not enough to keep peoples attention. This is why you need to have everything working for your, great design, great headline, great images in the post, etc.
Joe - I really would encourage the switch. The platform is a lot better (though admittedly I haven't used blogger for over 12 months) and the ability to quite easily add plug-ins is tremendous, there are some great ones available.
Emz - your blog does look very sharp. Having said that being a design blog yours really does need to be great. It's like going to a mechanic to fix your car and finding out he cant fix his own car.

I found the theme to my blog through one of those links you mentioned (the smashing magazine one). I'd like to create my own theme from scratch one day, but the theme I found was perfect for what I wanted, and with a bit of customisation I made it look more to my specification.

I think it looks great, but everyone has different tastes and it could be quite difficult catering for all.

Hey Bill, great post. I'm wondering though, how do you feel about moving from blogger to wordpress? I have a blog that I've been blogging on for almost a year, and while I know that wordpress is the better platform for blogging, I feel conflicted, and I'm afraid of losing things.

I've been thinking about it for a while... has anyone ever found that their readers don't like the move?

Bill,

Thank you for the reminder that our online "fashion statement" really does make a difference. I know from my own experience that I automatically click away from a blog or other site that is difficult to navigate or visually unappealing. An eye-catching title can sometimes salvage the situation and encourage me to stick around--but barely. Whether we like it or not, looks do mean something. Thanks again for the reminder.
