Sold!

Well I’m happy and sad to report that One Man’s Goal has been sold. The purchase price was $8,500 and the new owner is going to do a great job with this site.

I can’t get into details yet of who purchased it, but I can tell you this… he has a similar vision for One Man’s Goal and I think you will all be well served to stick around and see what he has to offer.

I’m going to stick around for about two weeks and continue posting as if nothing had happened. After that, I will turn the reigns over to the new owner, and let you see what he has to offer. I’m excited that I found an owner that has a similar vision for One Man’s Goal rather than turning the site into a billboard and sucking it dry.

It’s a happy time, but on the same note I can’t help but feel remorseful for selling something I put so much into. The money is better served on my investment though, and I think it will be better for everyone in the end. As I said, for the next two weeks, you can expect me to continue posting on the various tips, and tricks of the blogging trade.

The comment section is open for you to tell me your thoughts on this whole process.

Congrats on the sale. I know it can be hard to part with something you have put so much time into.

    Hey… just do it again.

Congrats on the sale. When are you planning to let us know where you’ll continue, btw?

Congratulation on your sale! Are you planning on a different blog for my further readings?

    Bryan:

Congratulation! Good luck to whatever you will be working on. Welcome you joining the millionaire club. ;-)

I’m working on a new site right now. It should be ready to go by the time the new owner takes control of this one. My new site isn’t in the “make money online” niche, it’ll be a bit different.

As I said, I’ll be blogging here for two more weeks, so I’ll let you know before I leave. I’ll have to ask the new owner if he minds me telling you where it is though. I don’t think he will, because as I said, it’s in a different niche, and therefore it wouldn’t be in competition with One Man’s Goal.

    Stay tuned!

    Congratulations duuuuuuude!

Wise choice I think Bryan. I’d do the same thing, turn around and invest in something bigger.

    Congratulations Bryan!

You might consider purchasing a few existing sites too given your talent at building and monetizing traffic.

Best wishes on your new site.

Everything is a learning experience. Bryan if you approach your next endeavor with the same tenacity, focus and drive, you will succeed again, and again and again… I have no doubt you will. Sometimes you have to part with something you love in order to gain something even greater.

    Live Your Dreams,

Congrats Bryan! I’ve mentioned this on some other blogs that have talked about your sale - I am having a real hard time imagining how somebody else can step into this blog and take it over. I mean, it’s YOUR goal, it’s about YOU, so with you gone, it just won’t be the same. But I’m intrigued so I’m going to stick around just to see what happens!

I agree with Caroline and I have voiced similar sentiments in other posts. The thing is, the goal was secondary to everything else he was talking about so I don’t think Bryan will have trouble with a new blog. What I am trying to say is that the goal was the reason he was talking about the things he was speaking on, but at the same time he gave valid information and presented it in an entertaining manner. Bryan is already a skilled marketer, so he should do well in his future endeavors. Congratulations Bryan, and I wish you the best of luck. I’m sad to see this site go, it was the only monetizing site I trusted, but I am glad to see you succeed. To say otherwise would be selfish. You did a wonderful job of speaking to your audience, opposed to speaking down to your audience. Sort of like how John Chow sits on his perch and makes snide comments letting everyone who visits his site know they are nothing more than a mark to him. A means to an end. It’s a joke to a lot of these guys, but I’m ranting now, so I will stop. Again, I wish you the best.

What kind of project are you doing Bryan =)!? Seems interesting as you are going to devote all your resource and time on it.

Are you kicking yourself you didn’t take that other deal?

  16. By Bryan on Nov 8, 2007 | Reply

Kirsty - Honestly, just a little. I’m not all that upset because it speaks volumes to me that I was ABLE to turn it down because I was so focused on my vision. I was locked in and had tunnel vision, all I could see was straight ahead (finishing my quest). But, as weeks past, I realized that with a bit of a budget to advertise, and do some other things I wanted to do… I could make a blog much bigger.

Monetary value can never surpass the hardship we have taken into creating out site to become famous but it is indeed amazing that you were able to sell it to such value. Hoping for the best
