Want 2,000 StumbleUpon Hits? Here’s How!

StumbleUpon users are like channel surfers. If you don’t impress them in 15 seconds, they are usually off to the next site that catches their attention. Here are some ways to attract StumbleUpon users (stumblers), keeping them is up to you!
- A bulleted post of some sort. 10 ways to make money online, 10 ways to cook bacon, 100 free software programs, etc.
- Flash animation. Stumblers are like toddlers… if you can catch their eye with a shiny object, they’ll be attentive for 30 seconds or so.
- A free game. Addicting ones that are incredibly difficult, yet simple to look at work the best. Like this one!
- A funny, creative, or cute picture
- A funny, weird/creative, or cute video
- How-to Articles
- Any conspiracy or anti-Bush articles, pictures, or videos
- Parody or satire sites
- Anything relating to 12 year olds and AOL
- Some sort of physics engine
- Any post that utters the phrase “Stumblers Rock” or “Digg Sucks”
Sadly, this is mostly serious.

I feel this way too sometimes. I get a lot of traffic from StumbleUpon, but I really wonder whether they read my articles at all.

Haha. I stumble around all the time and I usually stop on the sites with the Flash Animations or the Flash Games. They get me every time. Great Post.

the free game link has rec’d 37 hits today (last hour) so there is definite interest in that. that’s the most hits i’ve seen for 1 link on your blog, yet. and solid post.
also someone posted somewhere, “what do you do to entice the SU visitors that come to your blog?” this is a good question for all stumblers.

I get most reffered traffic from Stumble five times more than any other site.

I sometimes get a lot of traffic from StumbleUpon and sometimes not a lot at all. For the life of me, I have no idea what brings them back time and again. I don’t do any of what you listed. Well, I haven’t in a few months.
