What is it with you that your goals feels like ours too ?
When you make a review of the progress you are having I begin to feel anxious like when someone going to surprise you, or you want to know a test score
I don’t have to tell you to keep up the great work, and those $500+ that you make in two months tells us that we can achieve the same in one year or less if we continue in the race . . .
By Bryan on Aug 29, 2007 | Reply
Michael - It’s not all that difficult. Anyone can do it!
Aditya - Thanks! I’m glad you took the time to comment. It means a lot to me
Sutocu - Less than $60… advertising budget $0
Maneesh - It means more than you think
icedragon - What a great compliment! Thank you. And the $500+ was just this month. I made a bit last month too

Well done mate! Why are you doing the update on the 29th rather than on Sept 1st though?
I really love the way you lay out your updates clearly and set yourself goals and then update us on your progress.
Earning this much after 2 months with one blog is an accomplishment. Took me 5 years and 5 sites to get to that point!
By Bryan on Aug 29, 2007 | Reply
Kirsty - I do the monthly updates on the 29th because my blog was started June 28th. So the month runs from the 29th to the 28th.
Thanks for the compliments. I’m considering starting another blog as well as this one, I’m just trying to come up with a topic that I’d like to write about every day.

Way to go Bryan!
I love how you’re creating specific and measurable Goals. You’re tracking it and treating it like a million dollar businesss, and that’s what it is and will be. No doubt about it.
I love watching your growth and am so proud of you.

Congratulations Bryan!
Though I am intrigued to find out what you mean by “Help a blogger who needs it”
I’m waiting for the next viral link love, so I can get some links to my new domain. After following your advice.

If you can find something you’re passionate about then adding another blog to your empire should be easy. But finding the right topic is the trick!
Do any of you blogging types ever build regular ’static’ type websites?

Hey Bryan!
Great going. You know I’ve been watching you grow since “One Mans Goal” was just a newborn and I look in all the time (as you know) and all I can say is you are on the right track! Numbers don’t lie. I remember when you first started this someone had said you’d never make $$ from the internet. If your ratio of growth keeps up as it is - WOW! Great job, it’s good to actually see your goals being met and some even passed. Keep it up!

That’s pretty amazing for only a second month. I actually hadn’t even realized you’d only been doing this for so short. I’m just that much more impressed!

I have come to the conclusion, and your blog is the factor that seals the deal, that the best way to make money blogging, is to blog about making money blogging. No other niche succeeds so quickly and so well as the “make money online” niche. I have found that monetizing any blog that isn’t in this niche alienates a lot of readers - my blog for example has a moderate amount of ads, yet they turn people off more than I ever thought possible. If your topic is actually how to make money blogging though, you are given free reign when it comes to monetization, because that’s your topic! And of course, as you continue to make more money your authority in this subject will grow, and so will your blog and it’s successes - it’s exponential. Of course, on any traditional website or blog, with any topic, success gives the excuse to use advertising as well, because people assume that bandwidth costs will be high; but as a beginner with a small readership, ads are not easily forgiven. I might have to re-evaluate my decision to use monetization at all, if I am going to run a successful blog. I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic, maybe you could write a post about it? Also, I don’t want this to be read as an angry post, I have to say congrats on the success so far, you are doing a wonderful job of creating the content that is necessary for success, and without that you wouldn’t have anything - but you also picked the perfect niche to capitalize on, people love to read anything about how they might make money online, you just have the ability to write well and promote your content vigorously - keep it up!

wow not bad. you realy got a lot of trafic and a good check. keep on working. i will work to get there too.

Wow, Bryan! I’m blown away by your success. Almost 8000 unique visitors. Over 500 bucks. A predicted PR5. Good Grief!
I did learn some things from your post. Advertising, text link ads, reviews and paid posts, are keys to good revenue generation. To make money with Adsense we need lots of traffic.
Also goal setting is really effective. Maybe I should talk to Jill Koenig.
Thanks for sharing, I love seeing progress. Emma

Pradeep - Thanks! Always glad to see a new face hanging around
Jill - Great leadership has played a great part so far. I appreciate what you’ve done. I would also give a strong recommendation for everyone to join Goal University… it’s benefits are priceless.
Angela - Enjoy your beer!
Karen - Thank you!
Sly - I’ve got some tough competition from a lot of sources. I hope I can pass them all. Thanks for the kind words.

Contamination - It’s part of my goal to help others with their journey. I wouldn’t feel right being semi-successful without pointing others in the right direction if they needed help. I’m always open to helping others… just send me an email!
Kirsty - I’ve never had a “static” website… but then again, I’ve never had a blog before 2 months ago. I think blogs are the way to go though. It’s much easier to get and keep traffic for something that’s updated daily.
Deathsweep - Thanks! I still get people that say I’ll never make a dime. I’m silencing them one by one.
Matt - Thanks!
By Bryan on Aug 29, 2007 | Reply
UPC - I sent you an email with some monetization strategies for your site that might not alienate readers. Hope they help!
Hoto - Thanks! Keep working hard.
Emma - The text link ads affiliate program is wonderful. $25 payment to get people to sign up for free? Yeah!!!!
I definitely recommend contacting Jill, she’s played a big part in my success as has Goal University.

I have decided that i am gonna create goals (similar to what you have done) for my Groovy Vegetarian blog. I’m not sure why i’ve not done it already.
I am enjoying being a witness to your continued progress. I wouldn’t mind it at all if you took a look at my blog, and hit me up with some pointers. (via pm) Appreciate it.

Hi Bryan,
Congrats on great success; I think UPC-techblog made a great comment about the niche you are in, allows you to advertise like heck without turning anyone off.
Question: how often does Alexa update it’s stats?
I have a 1 month old blog, created for now just for the blogging aspect (learning how to blog and sharing my thoughts - what a concept eh?) but of course I would not mind eventually monetizing it. I have seen a few traffic spikes this week since certain entries have been published (linked) in very high traffic sites so those 2 days I saw some nice spikes, and in general upswing in traffic from a dead start. So will Alexa update that next week. My goal? crack the 6 million level? lol (hey we have to start somewhere)
I am just using blogger.com so I am unsure if I am losing out on some opportunities for eventual monetization but again, I am a complete newbie as this. Maybe in a few months I will enter this monetization era, but for now I just am trying to learn how to drive traffic. Any comments would be appreciated.
